Advanced simulation and monitoring of reactive systems and power plants and experimental combustion developments using analytical and optical techniques on a laboratory and industrial scale.
Lines of investigation
·Advanced numerical simulation of reactive systems
· Calculation and numerical simulation of heat transfer in electrical systems and metallurgical and process furnaces
· Experimental combustion developments using new analytical and optical techniques. Laboratory work and adaptation to measurements in real field
· Advanced simulation of the dynamics of coherent (fluid and fixed bed) and chaotic gas and particle systems
· Thermal monitoring of boilers, furnaces, recuperators and process regenerators. Interpretation of field measurements. Development of new measurements with physical basis applicable in real field
· Simulation of complex power plants and study of configurations using energy optimization tools and reduced-order models
